In anticipation
of rapid development in Kuala Rompin (Persisiran Pantai) especially
due to rapid growth in tourism
industry, a new water treatment plant needs to be built since the present
treatment plant (7.5 Mld) will not be able to meet the anticipated additional
demand of 37 Mld up to year 2020.
The State
Government of Pahang appointed BW Perunding Sdn Bhd to be the engineering
consultant for the following services:-
- To carry
out feasibility study, prepare a water supply master plan for the
project area, prepare conceptual report of the proposed water supply
system to serve the project area up to the year 2020 and recommend
an implementation schedule.
- To carry
out detailed engineering design of the system proposed in the conceptual
report.
- To provide
supervision and project administration during construction stage of
the project
The following
components were identified for implementation:-
- Raw
water abstraction and transmission main from Sg. Pontian Reservoir
- A 37
Mld water treatment plant and associated works at Sepayang
- Treated
water transmission main and 8 Ml balancing reservoir
- Trunk
distribution mains and elevated tanks
