Raw Water Pumping Station (M&E Works), Raw Water Transfer Pumping Main Outfall at Sg. Tinggi Reservoir.

The Selangor State Gov was desirous of implementing a pumped refilling scheme for the existing Sg Tinggi reservoir so as to sustained an approximate yield of 2200 Mld for Sg Selangor at the existing Btg Berjuntai river intakes.

Raw water is to be extracted from Sg Selangor when the flow is abundant and pumped into Sg Tinggi Reservoir for subsequent regulated releases back to the river. The design capacity of the raw water transfer scheme is 150 Mld and the pumping will be intermittent and during high flow periods.

Raw water intake is located at about 100 M downstream of the North-South Highway bridge crossing
at Sg Selangor and raw water pumped to an outfall located about 100 m away from the northern and of the Sg Tinggi Dam bund, for discharge into the reservoir.

The major components of the proposed scheme are:

  • intake for direct abstraction off Sg Selangor and pump sumps.
  • raw water pumping station with vertical mounted centrifugal pumps in a dry well and motor above in pump hall (above
flood level) including switchboard rooms, etc.
  • ancillary facilities at the intake and raw water pumping station.
  • 1200 mm ND steel raw water pumping main approximately 8.2 Km long.
  • outfall at Sg Tinggi reservoir for discharge into the reservoir
  • 8 Km long access road from intake to Sg Tinggi reservoir.
