Design of Sewers and Sewage Treatment for South and South-Eastern Catchments at Bangi New Town.

 

Bumi Watson was appointed in August 1980 by the Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS) to engineer the Bangi New Town sewerage scheme covering an area of approximately 3600 hectares. The area covered includes residential, industrial, commercial, institutional and service development. The total estimated project cost is RM26 millions(1981).

The project comprises:

  • Low cost sewerage treatment for domestic, industrial and commercial wastes.
  • Construction of trunks sewers through difficult ground condition in expired mining areas.

The sewerage network has been designed to avoid pumping. Treatment is partly achieved in the old mining pools to the requirement of the Division of Environment Standard A for discharged into Sg. Langat upstream of a water supply abstraction point.

The services include :

  • Master Plan of sewerage and sewage treatment and feasibility study to determine appropriate methods of financing.
  • Preliminary engineering design incoporating design parameters, phased implementation programme and detailed cost estimate.
  • Detailed Design and Preparation of Tender Documents
    Assisting in calling for Tenders Documents.
  • Supervision of Civil Engineering Construction and Supply and Erection of Mechanical and Electrical.
