Intake Works and Pumping Station, Water Treatment, Terminal Storage Tanks, Rechlorination Plant, Transmission Pipelines

BW Perunding Sdn Bhd in association with Watson Hawksely Asia were appointed by the Turnkey Contractor as consultants for the scheme which will ultimately supply 8.3 million gallons per day of portable water from the Sg. Padas on Mainland Sabah to supplement Labuan Island's existing supply.

Hydrological studies including low flow predictions and salinity risk studies involving extensive fieldwork and computer analysis, were conducted on the lower reaches of the Sg. Padas in 1985 and reviewed in 1987. The scope of work involves a river intake, raw water pumping stations, water treatment works and a treated water pumping stations all
located on the banks of Sg. Padas, together with inline booster stations along the piperoad and terminal storage
tanks with a rechlorination plant in Labuan.

Total length of treated wter pipeline is 51 km, of which about 25 km is a submarine.
